CNG Tanker Semi-trailer for Sale
Designed for the bulk overland movement of compressed natural gas, this semi-trailer features a modular tube-bundle construction that delivers exceptional strength, efficient space utilization, and reliable service under extreme working conditions. Each unit consists of multiple seamless steel cylinders (Type I or Type II composite-wrapped options available) mounted within a robust steel frame, capable of operating at a nominal working pressure of 20 MPa (2,900 psi) with a design margin that exceeds international code requirements.
Performance-driven design:
High volumetric efficiency: The compact arrangement of cylinders – typically 6, 8, or 10 tubes – maximizes gas payload while keeping tare weight low. With total water volumes ranging from 23 m³ to 36 m³, each trailer can deliver up to 9,000 Nm³ of natural gas, significantly reducing the number of round trips needed per route.
Advanced safety architecture: Every cylinder is fitted with integral burst discs (set at 37.5 MPa), thermally activated fusible plugs, and a spring-loaded safety relief valve. The main gas manifold incorporates a pneumatic remote-controlled emergency shut-off valve that can be activated from the tractor cab or a rear control panel. The steel frame is engineered with finite element analysis to withstand highway crashes, rollovers, and dynamic loading without cylinder failure.
Operational reliability on the road: The chassis features heavy-duty leaf spring or optional air suspension, dual-line pneumatic braking with anti-lock (ABS), and robust landing gear rated for maximum gross weight. The piping system is protected within a recessed channel to prevent impact damage, and all threaded connections are torque-sealed with vibration-resistant anti-loosening devices. Corrosion-resistant coatings and stainless steel fasteners ensure long service life even in coastal or winter salt environments.
Fast and safe refueling/discharge: The rear control station includes high-flow gas outlets with excess-flow check valves, a purge system for safe disconnection, and a grounding reel to prevent static buildup. Optional remote fill adapters and pressure gauges with telemetry output allow real-time monitoring of each tube bundle from the driver’s cabin or dispatch center.
Customizable for your fleet: Choose between 6, 8, or 10-cylinder configurations, steel or composite cylinders, 20 MPa or 25 MPa working pressure variants, and add-on telematics for GPS tracking, tyre pressure monitoring, and cylinder health diagnostics. Fully compliant with ADR, DOT (CFR 49), and ISO 11439 standards. Ideal for mother-station refueling, daughter-station delivery, and industrial high-pressure gas supply.
